Dixit, winner of the 2010 Spiel des Jahres award (Family Game of the Year), is a hugely popular party game that's all about using your imagination and your skills of interpretation. If you like games such as Codenames and Mysterium where it's all about describing, suggesting or giving clues, chances are you will adore Dixit! The difference here, however, is that this is not a co-operative board game where you are all working together (or there are two teams competing against each other). It's every person for themselves - either the first to 30 points, or whoever has the most points when the deck runs out. Dixit comes with 84 unique cards, each with wonderful, vivid and sometimes quite surreal artwork on them. Players start with a hand of six cards, and one player will start as the 'Storyteller'. They will pick one of their cards and describe it in a sentence. This can be as wild, bland, creative or imaginative as they please. Then everyone will discreetly pick a card from their hand that they think best matches that sentence. All cards are shuffled and revealed face-up. Then players have to secretly vote using tokens (which are simultaneously flipped) on which card they think belongs to the Storyteller. If everyone picks the Storyteller's card (or if no one guessed right), then everyone scores two points, except the Storyteller. If only some people guessed correctly, then they and the Storyteller score three points. If others pick your own card when you are not the Storyteller, you alone score 1 point per vote for your card. (You are not allowed to vote for your own card!). Therefore, it quickly becomes a case of the Storyteller having to balance proceedings - if they're too vague in their descriptions, they risk alienating everyone from guessing their card. But at the same time, they cannot make it too obvious, because then everyone will know it and they'll score nothing! At the end of each turn, everyone receives a new card to their hand, and then the next player becomes the Storyteller. In some ways, Dixit is less of a board game and more of a fun activity you can experience with friends or family. Libellud have done a great job with the cards themselves - they're lovely and big (8x12cm, so bigger than regular playing cards) and the cartoony artwork is adorable, with a surprising amount of detail in each one. Also, the interior of the box itself is the game board, which is sure to delight younger players! Dixit's rules are incredibly simple to teach - you'll be up and running within 90 seconds of lifting the lid - meaning it's not going to intimidate those that are new to board games. The whole table will be laughing in no time at all, especially when people guess on the wrong cards, for the most bizarre of reasons! Player Count: 3-6 Time: 30 Minutes Age: 8+

For customers in the Uk who qualify for free shipping based on their order value we will use Royal Mail economy for orders between £20 and £24.99. A Royal Mail Second Class signed for service is offered free for orders between £25 and £49.99 within the UK. At £50 upwards customers have the option of 1st Class Signed for postage for free. On Uk orders £150 and over we offer free next day delivery via Royal Mail, or from a courier at our discretion.

Some items which are too large to be sent using these services may be sent by courier at our discretion. We also reserve the right to use the most appropriate shipping method applicable for the items being ordered. This can include adding 'signed for' services to packages where we require delivery confirmation, or using a different service from those stated above. Any changes made will be for the sole purpose of ensuring the most speedy and safe delivery of your goods, any extra costs involved in such changes will be met by us. In any case where this occurs we will affect delivery of your goods through a reputable postal carrier as listed below.

Delivery by Courier- We like to use next day delivery services from date of dispatch when we use a courier. We do offer you the option of selecting a courier of your choice and a service they provide. We do this to allow you full control over your shopping experience. If you have selected to do this option you must email us the courier and service you would like your items dispatched by so we can provide a full postage quote. Please note that orders dispatched Friday will arrive Monday unless a Saturday service has been selected. When placing the order please consider leaving a mobile number, as this allows the courier to send sms notifications about your consignment. If your parcel has not arrived within 15 working days of receiving our dispatch notice and it is not at the local depot, then please contact us. Please provide your name as it would appear on your order, order reference and the date you received our dispatch note, this will help us to deal with your query quickly for you.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING (EUROPE)

Airmail - usually takes 5 -10 working days, but it can take longer if there is a delay in the postage system. Please allow 28 working days for your item to arrive. Standard Airmail is not tracked.

International Signed for, International Tracked and International Track & Sign are tracked and include delivery confirmation services. Shipping times can vary but usually take 5-10 working days from dispatch to delivery. Items can take up to 28 Working Days as per the Royal Mail's terms of service.

International Courier - We also offer different economy and express courier options (DHL and Parcelforce) for European countries with prices and delivery times varying depending on weight and destination. We do offer you the option of selecting a courier of your choice and a service they provide. We do this to allow you full control over your shopping experience. If you have selected to do this option you must email us the courier and service you would like your items dispatched by so we can provide a full postage quote

Rest of World - For items travelling outside the European Economic Area delivery times are longer and usually takes 10-14 working days, dependent where in the world you are based. Goods can take up to 28 working days before being considered late as per couriers terms of service. Please also include a contact number as our Couriers require this for delivery

If you are ordering from the Russian Federation please be aware that we require a business address for delivery due to restrictions on sending items from outside of the Russian Federation.

You may chose to cancel the order at any time up until 14 days after you have received the goods. If you chose to cancel after the goods have been dispatched, you will be responsible for all postage costs and are completely responsible for ensuring the items are returned to us in the same condition as they were received.

If the returned goods are not returned in the same condition received, we withhold the right to deduct 50% from the refund cost or refuse the return outright.

To summarize you can nearly always return an unwanted Item within the 14 day period as long as it has not been opened, or used and is still in the original packaging, sealed as received. If you have opened and used it we will not be able to accept the return.

Damaged Or Faulty Goods
If you Have received a faulty or damaged item you must inform us within 7 working days of receiving the item. We will then offer a suitable resolution at no cost to yourself. We do reserve the right to refuse complaints, or levy suitable charges for issues raised after this period.

NOTE: Damaged cards inside blind packed products such as booster packs. In the event that a particular card is damaged inside a pack, we will only be able to replace the booster pack as being faulty (the product purchased) and not the individuals cards inside. In the rare case that this happens to you, you may benefit from contacting the manufacturer of the product for a replacement card, however they do not have any duty to fulfil this.

Other Returns

In the unlikely event that your item arrives damaged or we have made a mistake on your order or your item has suffered a manufacturing fault, then please contact us at enquires@northerncardgaming.co.uk. Most manufacturing faults are quickly resolved through an email to the manufacturer. If you wish to return an item in these circumstances we will cover the postage costs for your return up to standard shipping.

Pre-order Cancellations
You may cancel a pre-order for a full refund until the order has shipped, which is usually one day before official release date ( On day of release for TCGs). If a pre-order product has fallen in price since you ordered it, we can refund you the difference, so you get the lower price. This applies up to the point the order is dispatched.This does not apply to any price with additional discounts codes or special offer.
